| Axel Wilczok received his first violin instruction from his father at the age of five. He studied at the "Hochschule für Musik `Hanns Eisler´" in Berlin with Professor E. Feltz and completed his five-year degree of studies in Moscow with Prof. J. Jankelewitsch. He has been the concertmaster of the Staatskapelle Berlin since 1984, where he has given many opera and concert performances in Berlin as well as in foreign countries including Japan, France, England, South America and Switzerland. Besides an active position as professor at the "Hochschule für Musik `Hanns Eisler´" Berlin, he is especially committed to the promotion and cultivation of chamber music. As soloist and member of several prominent chamber music ensembles, he has traveled to all significant music centers in Europe as well as America and Japan. |
